Adele is giving fans an update about her personal life. During a show at her Las Vegas residency (which runs through Nov. 4), the singer announced to the audience that she had recently given up alcohol.

Acknowledging a group of concertgoers in the VIP section with a pint of whiskey sour at their table, Adele revealed she hasn't drank in a few months. "You know, I stopped drinking quite a long time ago … it feels like forever," she said to the crowd. "Maybe like three and a half months ago."

The Grammy-winner, who is known for her wit and sense of humor, teased that while she does miss drinking, she had to give it up because she was becoming a "borderline alcoholic." "It's boring," she quipped of being sober. "Oh my God, it's boring. I mean, I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my twenties. I miss it so much, I cut out caffeine, so enjoy your whiskey sour, I'm very, very jealous."

Adele has spoken about her relationship with alcohol in the past. In March, Adele allegedly told the audience at a show that she had drank four bottles of wine before 11 a.m. during the COVID-19 lockdown, per Daily Mail.

Back in 2021 during her One Night Only special, the vocalist told Oprah Winfrey that she had quit drinking. "I stopped drinking," she said.  "That's one great way of really sort of getting to know yourself, is just drinking water and being sober as anything."

Later that year, she told Vogue that she was "fascinated by alcohol" because of her father. "I've always had a very close relationship with alcohol. I was always very fascinated by alcohol. It's what kept my dad from me. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it." According to People, her father Mark Evans, who died in 2021, was not present for much of Adele's childhood.
