This teal stunner took a month and a half to produce: 4 pounds of bugle beads and 2 pounds of sequins were hand-sewn on silk tulle to make sure all 7 pounds of its gorgeousness fit her curves precisely. "The materials we used played with the way light reflected off the gown, enhancing the silhouette," says Zuhair Murad. And while "Sofia wants to sparkle," says Deb Waknin, the 'Modern Family' star's stylist, she also likes being provocative: "She loves showing off her curves." A glitter array of Neil Lane Diamond Hollywood Jewels included 45-carat pear-shaped drops and a 110-carat trio of platinum diamond cuffs.

Julie Bowen

Why is it called the Star Shadow clutch? Bowen's brass and silver purse from Swarovski's Red Carpet Collection just happens to be adorned with 1,900 pave crystals, which are applied with a special technique so they take on gold, silver, black, and champagne hues to form a shadow effect - an artful counterpoint to the 'Modern Family' Emmy winner's decidedly bold citrus silk faille gown by Monique Lhuillier.

It's so nice to have a friend who is a designer, especially if said pal is Jason Wu. "When I tried it on, I thought, I can't believe this is my life," the 'Mad Men' actress told Instyle.com when asked about Wu's silk jersey and leather bustier gown. "With her dark hair and a statement red lip, she looked like she walked out of a Rene Gruau illustration," said Wu. The finishing touch: Bulgari Greco-Roman white gold earrings and an emerald and sapphire ring. "We wanted to give this goddess look a cool spin," says her stylist, Cristina Ehrlich. Mission accomplished.

'Scandal''s leading lady sneaked in a guest on her snakeskin Kotur clutch. The incredibly cute metal lizard she fell for was later dubbed "Liz Khalifa" by fans (after Kerry tweeted for suggestions). Equally slinky: her Vivienne Westwood Red Carpet Capsule Collection sequined gown that took four days to cut and sew to perfect its delicate draping.

Heidi Klum

"Celadon corresponds will with her ash blond hair," says Alexandre Vauthier, who designed Klum's charmeuse-lined silk chiffon gown. The idea behind the dress with the 4-foot slit? "Hollywood glamour," says her stylist Maryam Malakpour. "When we saw the shade, there was no second choice," says Lorraine Schwartz about her Paraiba tourmaline, black opal, and pink diamond drops. Valued at more than $750,000, they were worn with tow rose-gold diamond and Paraiba tourmaline rings.

"This gown is all about transparency, lightness, and movement," says CEO and creative director Gilles Mendel. And every inch of the silk tulle J. Mendel dress he created was dreamy, from its sunburst pleating to the corseted bodice, which alone took 20 hours to drape. The 'Revenge' beauty carried a gray crocodile Judith Leiber clutch worth $3,495. But what made the Emmy presenter twinkle? The bow-shaped Van Cleef amp Arpels Couture Collection bracelet of 275 diamonds.

"It was the first dress I tried on, and I fell in love with it right away," says 'The Good Wife' star. "I felt like I was wearing a work of art." This silk jacquard floral-print gown by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture was inspired by "nymphs, fairies, and silvery reflections in a woodland pond," says Valli, who used golden threads woven into the fabric to bring the blooms to life. Fred Leighton's ornate 19th century amethyst and gold earrings continued the theme of rich jewel tones.

Julianne Moore

After nabbing her first prime-time Emmy for 'Game Change', the star had said just one thing about this Raf Simons for Dior Haute Couture gown: "It really is the dress of a winner-it's a good thing I won." Moore was especially drawn to the lemony shade. "Some redheads are intimidated by color, but she embraces it," says her stylist Leslie Fremar. To make sure the top wasn't as sheer as it was on the runway, they remade the cashmere sweater with a thicker thread and placed a corset underneath. A Fred Leighton platinum and diamond art deco bracelet added shine (as the Fekkai Full Blown Volume Styling Whip did to her glossy auburn hair).
