Hailey Bieber, like most of us, is tired.

"Sorry, I'm yawning. I'm sorry!," she tells InStyle over the phone.

The supermodel just returned to LA from Milan Fashion Week, where she was spotted with bleached brows and significantly darker hair than her signature buttery blonde.

But we get it. Feeling utterly exhausted is a 2020 mood, thanks to the stress of socially distancing for several months since COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic, and the impending Presidential election (more on that later). Plus, being jet-lagged isn't exactly the best feeling to add to that mix.

That's why Bieber, who's known for having fun with her beauty looks (remember her cotton candy pink hair?), mostly prefers to keep her routine low key when she's not on a shoot or a runway — especially while quarantining with husband Justin Bieber in Canada and LA.

"During quarantine, I took care of all things, including eyelashes, eyebrows, hair, skin, because I really had the time to focus on that," she says. "There was no work, there was no dyeing of the hair."

Her relaxed, effortless vibe is what makes her partnership with bareMinerals a perfect fit. Bieber is the face of the clean beauty brand's new Strength & Length Collection, a growth serum-infused mascara and brow gel.

Ahead, Bieber breaks down her quarantine beauty routine, reveals her go-to products, and why it's important to get political on social media.

What has been your approach to makeup during COVID-19?

I have been using the Strength & Length Mascara and Brow Gel a lot because I feel like we're all wearing masks and you can't really go anywhere without them. I don't leave the house without using a brow gel, and I love the Strength & Length one because it's infused with a serum that helps with growth and it's just kept my brows so healthy and luscious. And I definitely noticed with the Strength & Length mascara, that my lashes grew a lot during quarantine from using it. So, those two products have been my hero products over the last six, seven months.

Speaking of brows, yours are full, and frankly, great. Aside from brow gel, how do you maintain them?

Like most people, I had a phase where I definitely plucked my brows way too much as a teenager and then went through all the stages of growing them back. Now, I love my brows. During quarantine, I've gone through phases where I've really just let them grow in and not shaped them at all. But now, I'm at the point where they've grown in to the extent that I want, and I get them shaped every month and a half or so to maintain the pattern that they grow out in.

Your hair has been darker lately. What has been your haircare routine during quarantine?

I’ve been putting hair growth oil, serums, and masks, in my hair. If I had it in my cabinet, I was trying it. Regardless, I usually do a leave-in conditioner every time I get out of the shower. I really like the Olaplex one. That’s all that’s been happening on the hair front. Plus, I haven’t put any bleach on it at all. I’m going to continue to let it grow out for probably a year and then see where I’m at and what I want to do.

I do extensions on and off, but during quarantine, I obviously didn’t have any extensions in, which gave my hair a really nice break. I’m typically really indecisive about my hair. While I do love to be able to just run my fingers through it without anything in there, I do go through phases where I want my hair long tomorrow, so I put in extensions. Then I’ll get tired of them a week later and take them out. One thing I do know is that I want my hair to be healthy, so I’ve been trying to take care of it.

So many people are dealing with skin issues right now from wearing masks. What has been your go-to product for clear, dewy skin?

Well, I think obviously for everybody, it's been a little less about the makeup and more about treating the skin with kindness. And bareMinerals has tons of products that are really great on the skin, but my favorite for sure is the SKINLONGEVITY Long Life Herb Serum, because it's a great everyday serum you can use morning or night. It has niacinamide in it, which is my absolute favorite ingredient in skincare. I think it's such a good multi-purpose multi-dimensional, multi-targeted ingredient.

Your manicures often set nail art trends. Did you attempt to do your own nails when salons were shut down?

During quarantine, when we were in lockdown, we spent it in Canada. Obviously, we weren't seeing anybody at all and I just let my natural nails grow out. But one thing I do really like on my nails when I can get them done, is I put PolyGel over my natural nails to keep them hard. They grow super long with a PolyGel on them because they don't break. I have really long fingers so I feel like a little bit length on my nails because it creates an even longer illusion. PolyGel is super easy because you can file it down if you need to, and you could have them short or super long, whatever you want.

You often speak about your relationship with your faith. Why have you also made it a priority to use your platform to talk about current political issues and the importance of voting?

There’s so much going on in the world right now and in our country. I think if you have any form of social media, you know exactly what’s going on, and that there’s a lot of injustice and big issues at hand. My generation and this next generation, the Gen Zs, really have an opportunity to make a big change for the future of our country and the world. The reason I’m so passionate about encouraging people to vote is because the choice is ours, if we really want to make it happen. It will be very heartbreaking and scary to spend the next four years with the current person in change and I would really love to see that change. I think we have it in us to really do it that.
