It’s a rare treat to see Cameron Diaz out and about and back in the headlines (especially after she announced she was stepping away from acting). But when we do, we can’t help but let our hearts skip a beat — and her latest outing was no exception, serving fall fashion inspo with a side of super-trendy haircut.

On Wednesday, the actress caught up with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon wearing the easy outfit formula for this (and any) season: a matching two-piece. For the appearance, she modeled a head-to-toe black ensemble featuring an oversized, boxy blazer with a coordinating scoop-neck tank top teamed with slouchy trousers. A pair of black stiletto boots, a smattering of rings, and dainty gold hoop earrings provided the finishing touches to her suited and booted look.

What really caught our attention was her upgraded blunt lob, which was a complete switch-up from her curly, wispy shag. She styled the sleek-and-straight lob with a middle part and teamed her smoky eyes and rosy cheeks with a bold red lip. The overall look goes to show that a classic suit doesn’t have to be boring when paired with a new ‘do and bright red lipstick.

During the show, she revealed her husband, Benji Madden, is not only a rockstar in the eyes of the public but also their daughter, Raddix, who oftentimes plays songs for her.

"Yeah he makes up — I'm like, 'Why don't we just, you need to do a kids album.' Because he has like the best songs," she shared with Jimmy. "They play in my head all the time, because he sings them to her, and she knows the words, and it's the sweetest thing ever. It really is. It's so — it kills me. He has some bangers, I'm telling you."
