Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher Gave a Rare Glimpse Into Their Life at Home

Take a tour of their "sustainable L.A. farmhouse."

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have finally gone through the ultimate celebrity rite of passage: the Architectural Digest home tour.

The couple gave a rare glimpse into their home life with a tour of their home, a "sustainable L.A. farmhouse."

"We wanted a home, not an estate," Kunis said about their house, with Kutcher adding, "We wanted the house to look like an old barn, something that had been here for decades, that was then converted into a house. But it also had to feel modern and relevant."

The enviable six-acre property has a main house connected to a guesthouse/entertainment barn and a a freestanding barbecue pavilion.

Architect Howard Backen, who designed the house, told AD that the couple was incredibly involved in the project.

"Ashton and Mila are two of the smartest, most inquisitive people we've ever worked with," he said. "We talked about everything from beam sizes to the details of the cross bracing to the junctures of the wood planks and concrete. These are not the kinds of conversations we have with every client."

His associate, Stephanie Gerwin, said Kunis and Kutcher were "out there with us, as genuine members of the design team, for every step of this long and complicated process," adding that they were committed to creating a sustainable, nurturing home for themselves and their two children, 6-year-old Wyatt and 4-year-old Dimitri.

"To feel tranquility in a space, everything needs to be in order," Kutcher said about the design. "If the world around you isn't in order, it's hard to get your brain in order. When we're in our home, the world just makes sense."

Kunis and Kutcher, who met on the set of That '70s Show, became a couple in 2012 and got engaged in 2014 before tying the knot the following year.
