Jennifer Lopez is getting real about the insecurities that stemmed from her postpartum body. On Sunday, the singer opened up about feeling “uncertain” after welcoming her twins, Maximilian and Emme Muniz, back in 2008 when presenting her personal trainer Tracy Anderson with the Outstanding Achievement in Fitness award at the Daytime Beauty Awards

“I've been doing a lot of reflection lately, revisiting the past versions of myself to fully embrace the me of now,” J.Lo shared during the ceremony, per E! Online. “And I'm reminded of how much Tracy has inspired and encouraged me to celebrate every version of my body over the years and to continue to elevate as my own life and needs changed.”

Lopez then explained that she first started working with Anderson around the same time she gave birth to her twins, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

“I met Tracy right after I had my twins. I called her at a time when I was feeling insecure and uncertain, wondering if I would ever get back to how I was before — as most new moms do after giving birth,” the singer continued. “She came into my life and helped me embrace the new me and help me to be and to realize that I could be stronger than I ever had before.”

While several years have passed since Lopez first revamped her workout routine with the help of Anderson, her speech comes just months after she opened up about how fitness is still a “very important part” of her life when talking to Us Weekly

“I think there’s a positive correlation between exercise and mental health,” she explained. “When you find a good balance through determination and focus, we’re naturally pushing to be the best version of ourselves…I’m not afraid to challenge myself, so I’m open to pushing myself, which is what I’m doing right now as I rehearse for my new album, [This Is Me… Now].”
