It’s not every day that Julia Roberts decides to share photos of her children with the world, but when she does, she’s always sure to honor their privacy. Case in point? In a new interview with Extra, the actress opened up about a recent Instagram post that gave her 11.7 million followers a throwback glimpse at her twins, Hazel Patricia and Phinnaeus Walter (whom she shares with her husband, Danny Moder), in honor of their 19th birthdays — and more specifically, why she chose that exact photo.

“It is something to be celebrated, and I know Instagram is a place where people like to share happy things,” Roberts told Extra of the photo, which saw Hazel and Phinnaeus sitting on their mom’s lap as babies.

“I love them so much and I really did just happen to come upon this cute picture,” she added. “It allows me to share something as a proud parent of them without infringing on their privacy at all.”

The actress’s explanation comes just a week after she originally shared the snap on Instagram alongside a sweet caption that read, “✨✨19✨✨ There are no words for the joy, the fun, the wild rumpus of life together. 💕”

While the mother-of-three (she also shares a 16-year-old son named Henry with Moder) may tend to keep her children out of the spotlight, she did open up about her views on motherhood when talking to Hoda Kotb while appearing on Today last year.

“Sometimes, I get gripped with fear of blowing it,” she told the host. “And sometimes, I've just said to my kids, 'So today, me as a mom? Can we just take that off the board? Because I blew it.'”
