Kate Middleton's Red Bow Coat and Matching Hat Were So Festive She Practically Belonged Under a Tree

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the U.K.

Kate Middleton is gearing up for the holidays, and just days after announcing her third annual Christmas carol concert, the Princess of Wales got in the spirit in a very festive outfit that looked like a giant Christmas present.

On Tuesday, the duchess and her husband, Prince William, attended the Horse Guards Parade to welcome President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee of the Republic of Korea to the U.K. For the event, Middleton wore a head-to-toe (literally) red ensemble that consisted of a gorgeous midi-length poncho coat adorned with a sweet bow along the neckline, a matching wide-brimmed, bow-embellished fascinator, crimson suede pointed-toe pumps, and a matching clutch. Even Middleton's arms, that peeked out the holes in the side of the jacket, were clad in red sleeves.

In terms of accessories, Middleton wore a pair of sapphire-and-diamond drop earrings that previously belonged to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, and were believed to be missing until Middleton was spotted wearing them earlier this year, solving a decades-long mystery.

In the beauty department, Middleton swapped her bouncy curls for a low bun and finished off her glam with a smoky eye and a peachy lip.

For his part, William wore a long navy coat, matching trousers, and a patterned ruby tie to match his wife.

The palace announced on Sunday that Middleton would once again be hosting her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on Dec. 8. Alongside an image capturing Kate decorating a Christmas tree, as well as photos from previous years, the Prince and Princess of Wales's Instagram account shared the details of the upcoming holiday service.

"A very special Carol Service, coming soon. Together At Christmas with @earlychildhood is returning to Westminster Abbey on Friday 8 December. This will be a special moment to thank all those who do so much to support babies, young children and families in our communities across the UK."

People notes that this year could be even more special, because all signs point to Prince Louis, Kate and William's youngest son, making his royal Christmas debut.

Fans can tune into this year's concert on Christmas Eve on ITV.
