Kate Middleton already has more titles to her name than most people can keep track of, like Princess of Wales (Easy!) and Duchess of Cambridge as well as Duchess of Rothesay when she's in Scotland and Countess of Carrick and Baroness of Renfrew when she's in Northern Ireland (Are you taking notes?). Today, she officially added one more: colonel-in-chief of the 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards, which fit in quite nicely with the two she got back in August: Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm and the Royal Honorary Air Commodore of Royal Air Force Coningsby. For the occasion, Kate paid a visit to the guards' barracks in Dereham, Norfolk, and wore her go-to staple on the bottom and a very appropriate set of tactical gear on top.

The newly minted colonel-in-chief isn't shy about loving her skinny jeans, wearing them constantly even though the trend cycle is going through different shapes, but this may be the first time she's paired her trusty skinnies with hiking boots, a tactical vest, and a helmet. Before she changed into the camo-print uniform, however, she arrived in her staple outfit: a blazer, jeans, and a turtleneck. Of course, with it being November, Kate added a poppy pin for Remembrance Day.

At the royal appointment today, Kate not only got to drive an armored vehicle and hand out medals to servicemen and women, but Glamour notes that she also received a super-sentimental souvenir. Brigadier Alan Richmond gifted her with a brooch that previously belonged to Her Majesty the Queen Mother. She served as colonel-in-chief of the regiment from 1959 until 2002, when she passed away.

The 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards are a Royal Armored Corps regiment and date back to 1685. Originally, the group consisted of two cavalry regiments: the 1st King’s Dragoon Guards and The Queen’s Bays. In 1959, those two factions were combined to create the 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards and since then, the group has been instrumental in operations like the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Kate inherited the title from King Charles III, who held it from 2003 to 2023.
