In case you forgot, Kim Kardashian gets her ass up and works. So, it’s only natural that the pieces in her wardrobe would need to take her seamlessly from school drop-off duty to sitting front row at New York Fashion Week (and everywhere in between). Her latest easy day-to-night look? The most unexpected versatile staple you never knew you always needed: a cherry-red snakeskin trench coat.

Yes, you read that right. While animal-print outerwear may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of multifunctional clothing, Kardashian just proved that it’s actually the only thing you’ll need this season while out in New York City. On Monday, the SKIMS founder first styled the floor-skimming coat with a black Harley Davidson zip-up hoodie, matching wide-leg sweatpants, and an optic white Birkin bag before slipping into the evening version of the ‘fit later that night.

When stepping out the second time, Kim let the trench take center stage by wearing it with nothing underneath. She cinched her waist with the coat’s matching belt and finished the ‘fit with a pair of pointy-toe black heels. As for glam, the A-lister wore her brunette hair down in beachy waves with a deep side part, and she rounded out her look with rosy blush and a peachy-pink lip.

While Kardashian may be spending some time on the East Coast in light of New York Fashion Week as of late, her appearance comes just a week after she stepped out for Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour back in Southern California.

Last week, Kim swapped her red-hot animal prints for all-crystal-everything when attending Queen Bey’s birthday show in Los Angeles. During the outing, she styled a pair of high-waisted blue jeans with a custom Swarovski bandeau top that featured an attached choker and belly chain.
