Meghan Markle's Archetypes podcast, which featured guests like Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, and Constance Wu, had a short-lived, one-season life on Spotify, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Duchess of Sussex is bringing it back. Markle has teamed up with Lemonada Media for a new podcast series and the distribution of Archetypes's first season, meaning that listeners that didn't have Spotify the first time around can listen in for the first time. Lemonada's other shows include Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and The Sarah Silverman Podcast.

“I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting,” Meghan told THR. “Being able to support a female-founded company with a roster of thought-provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024. Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast, is well in the works. I’m so eager to be able to share it soon, and am overjoyed to be joining the Lemonada family.”

Archetypes dropped its first episodes in August 2022 on Spotify as part of a deal between the streamer and Archewell Audio. Initially, Meghan and Prince Harry's production company had signed a multi-year deal with Spotify, but everyone “mutually agreed to part ways” in June 2023. With 12 episodes in its first season, the show saw more than 10 million downloads and hit no. 1 on Spotify's podcast charts immediately in 47 different countries. Archetypes was named a digital media national winner at the 48th-annual Gracie Awards, which "celebrate outstanding programming and individual women in the news and entertainment industry."

Stephanie Wittels Wachs, Lemonada’s chief creative officer and co-founder, explained that she's excited to partner with Meghan and felt an immediate connection to Meghan and her passion for podcasting.

“As we’ve started development with the Duchess of Sussex, we are blown away by her collaborative spirit and clear vision, along with her deep desire to build compassion and community through this work," Wittels Wachs said. "The Lemonada team felt immediate kinship with Meghan and the Archewell Productions team, and we are delighted to be working together."
