Did Prince Andrew Just Shade Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Wedding?

Do we sense some royal competition?

Prince Andrew, father of the bride, spoke with ITV’s This Morning ahead of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s royal wedding on Friday, and his comments were, um, strangely shady … ?

Taking place less than six months after Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding, Eugenie and Jack’s nuptials have been unable to escape the comparison.

In Andrew’s interview, he neglected to even mention his nephew and Markle’s names when explaining the differences between the ceremonies, telling ITV, "It will not be the same as the previous one that was held in May. This is not a public wedding, this is meant to be a family wedding.” OK, cool. But the Duke of York didn’t stop there. "There'll be a few more people than most people have,” he continued, “There are a few more than Harry had, but that's just the nature of Eugenie and Jack — they've got so many friends that they need a church of that size to fit them all in."

Um, what? Harry and Meghan have ALL. THE. FRIENDS. Oprah came to their wedding. OPRAH.

To be fair, we’re talking 850 guests as opposed to Harry and Meghan’s 600 — both of which are massive when compared to your average wedding.

Andrew continued to distance his daughter’s wedding from Meghan and Harry’s, explaining that the bride and groom didn’t choose the same venue for the ceremony, rather the Queen demanded it. “It was what I was told as to where it was going to take place,” he said. “The Queen very firmly said, 'no, no, St George's is where you're having the wedding'."

Mother knows best!
