There is something very energizing about being at a film festival, especially one like the Toronto International Film Festival. The buzziest new films make their premiere here, sparking the first Oscar buzz discussions of the season, as the stars travel around the northern city promoting their new projects. To capture that energy, InStyle brought seasoned photographer Henny Garfunkel to Toronto and set up a pop-up portrait studio inside the Windsor Arms Hotel so she could shoot some of Hollywood’s hottest and the newest up-and-comers of the festival’s films. Lupita Nyong’o is one of #TIFF13’s princesses with her role in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, and she illuminated the room when she swung by with her gorgeous personality. (Her Katie Ermilio blue trousers helped, too). Parkland star Zac Efron woke up with InStyle, stopping by the studio nice and early at 9:30 a.m. to smile in this sweet photo above—though, it was not early enough to deter fans, who were waiting for him outside. Elizabeth Olsen also made an appearance, looking cozy in an oversize Marni sweater coat when she sipped her coffee before getting snapped by Garfunkel. “She is just so beautiful,” said Garfunkel of the young star. “She can’t take a bad picture.” Click to see more photographs by Henny Garfunkel and what the stars had to say about their new films.
