*NSYNC Just Announced the Release of Their First Song in Two Decades

This is not a drill.

One thing I didn't expect to see on my 2023 bingo card? An *NSYNC reunion. But alas, nearly two decades after the boy band known for tearin' up the hearts of every teenage girl in the 90s broke up, they're back like they never left — and they're releasing a brand new song to prove it.

Following Tuesday's on-stage reunion at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards and the elevator snap that shook the internet, we should have predicted this (but we’ve been let down before). This time is different, however, as our favorite heartthrobs have reunited to release their first song after 20 years, titled “Better Place,” on Sept. 29, with parts of the hit featured in the new Trolls Band Together trailer.

Hours prior to the announcement of new music on the way, *NSYNC had their fans speculating about something in the works when they posted an Instagram Reel lip-syncing to a scene from Friends. Posing in front of a blue screen, all five of them reenacted the scene between Joey and Rachel from season 5’s episode "The One With All the Resolutions.”

"Do you know something?" Justin Timberlake asked his four bandmates, while Joey Fatone as Rachel responded quickly with the same question.

"I might know something," Chris Kirkpatrick mouthed, to which JC Chasez imitated Rachel’s voice, "I might know something, too.”

"What's the thing you know?" Lance Bass added as Timberlake chimed in, "Oh no, I can't tell you until you tell me what you know."

"I can't tell you what I know," said Fatone, with Kirkpatrick interrupting, "Well, then I can't tell you what I know."

Chasez abruptly responds, “Okay, fine” as the clip ends with the band going its separate ways.

“Better Place” will be released on Sept. 29.
