Whether she’s stunning in a slinky red cut-out dress or effortlessly mixing unexpected patterns, Rachel McAdams has yet to meet a red carpet that she doesn’t absolutely conquer (awards, too!) — and her latest appearance featured a surprising detail that was subtly sexy.

On Monday, the actress arrived at the 33rd annual Gotham Awards, where she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Performance for her role in Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. For the ceremony, McAdams wore a sheer black gown from Givenchy's Fall/Winter 2023 collection. The black jersey dress featured a mock neck, draped ruching, and a cleavage-flashing keyhole cutout at the chest. She accessorized the nearly naked gown with black pointed-toe pumps and a Bulgari serpenti diamond necklace.

Beauty-wise, she styled her blonde hair with voluminous waves and a center part, while a pink lip and dewy complexion completed her glam.

McAdams’s outing comes just weeks after the star opted out of the Mean Girls reunion. Although the OG Regina George was notably missing from the commercial, she recently told Bustle that she's up for a return to the world of Mean Girls, but doesn’t see how the new movie musical could incorporate the original cast.

"I don't see a way to shoehorn us in," McAdams said, adding nothing is impossible without Tina Fey. "If Tina can figure it out, I'm there, for sure."

While Mean Girls fans wager their bets on whether the OG cast will make an appearance in the movie musical, McAdams is proud to hand Regina George's thrown to Reneé Rapp.

"I don't think she can do any wrong. She is amazing. She's already got me beat with that voice, so I'm just excited to see her incarnation," McAdams told Entertainment Tonight. "It's such a great character. It's so much fun to play, so I hope she has a great time with it. And I can't wait to see it."
