Tyler Perry Revealed His Sweet Nickname for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Daughter Lilibet

Tyler Perry has been an amazing friend to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the years (remember when he lent them his own personal house as a safe haven of sorts?), and now he is a committed godfather to their daughter Princess Lilibet Diana.

While appearing on an episode of Let's Talk Off-Camera with Kelly Ripa, the actor gushed about the young royal, who he affectionately called "Little Lili."

"She's so adorable," he told Ripa. "Oh, she's so beautiful. She's just so beautiful."

As to not leave out the couple's son Archie, Perry clarified that both of their kids are cuties. "They make beautiful babies — that's all I'll say," he said. "They make some beautiful kids. Archie and Lili are beautiful."

It was revealed that Perry was Lilibet's godfather during an episode of the husband and wife's Netflix docu-series Harry & Meghan, which premiered last December. In a confessional, Perry recalled the moment they had bestowed the honor upon him. He detailed their phone call, which he said started off "pretty serious."

"I go, 'Okay, what's going on?' They said, 'Well, we'd like for you to be Lili's godfather.' I go, 'Whoa,'" he remembered. "I had to take a minute to take that in. And I thought, 'I'd be honored. I'd absolutely be honored.'"

But after hanging up, Perry called back to ensure he wouldn't have to be a part of any of the royal pomp and circumstance that may come along with a baby being born. "I called them back and go, 'Uh, hold on a second — does this mean we gotta go over [to the U.K.] and do all of that in church with [the royal family] and figure all that out? 'Cause I don't wanna do that,'" he explained. "'Maybe we can do a little private ceremony here [in the U.S.] and let that be that, and if you have to do it there, then that's okay.'"

Sure enough, "Little Lili" was christened during an intimate service at their home in Montecito, Calif.

The friendship began after Perry reached out to Meghan ahead of her wedding to Harry to tell her he was "praying" for her amid all the controversies surrounding their special day. "I couldn't even imagine this woman finding the man that she loved, the man of her dreams, and him being a prince, and then to walk into all of that madness and need the security of family and then have your father do some horrible things," he said in an interview. "When my life changed and success started to come, family members became different people, and I know how hurtful and horrible it can be."
