Oscars 2022 Mila Kunis Hair

When Mila Kunis walks a red carpet, she always makes it glamourous. And that's exactly what the actress and humanitarian did at the 2022 Oscars.

Kunis's hairstylist, Chad Wood, leaned into the Old Hollywood vibe of her belted blush pink Zuhair Murad Couture gown when choosing her hairstyle for the night.

"The inspiration for the look is classic Old Hollywood meets modern, with its sleek part and refined-glossy finish," Wood tells InStyle.

Contrary to what one might think, creating loose, voluminous waves as seen with Kunis's style doesn't start and end with a curling iron — to achieve the smooth, frizz-free look, the styling actually starts in the shower.

"I recommend beginning in the shower to create this look by washing and conditioning hair using Nexxus Ultralight Smooth Weightless Frizz Protection Shampoo and Nexxus Ultralight Smooth Weightless Frizz Protection Conditioner," Wood says. Then, the stylist used a cocktail of the brand's Leave-In Spray and Frizz Defy Serum Cream for further shine and to protect hair from hot tools — and a touch of mousse at the roots.

After using a Harry Josh Pro Tools Blow Dryer and Thermal Round Brush to blow dry her hair, Wood created the waves with the brand's 3-in-1 Ceramic Curling Iron, section by section. After letting it cool, he brushed the waves out for a soft, bouncy finish. Wood finished the look with a veil of Nexxus Weightless Hold Ultra Fine Hair Spray to ensure her waves held up from the red carpet to the after-party.

While Kunis walked the most iconic red carpet with husband Ashton Kutcher, to her, it wasn't just a very fancy date night. The actress is presenting an award and is expected to bring awareness to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, specifically the humanitarian crisis in her native country, while on stage. In the past few weeks, the couple has raised over $30 million in aid for the country.

The 2022 Academy Awards red carpet is the longtime couple's Oscars debut.
