Two fashion wrongs seemingly make a right — at least, in the case of Katie Holmes's outfit at the Alice + Olivia presentation this New York Fashion Week.
Over the weekend, the Dawson's Creek alum arrived at Manhattan’s Highline Stages in Chelsea wearing the controversial Canadian tuxedo with socks and open-toe shoes. Taking a maximalist approach to dressing, Katie wore a light chambray button-up layered over a black turtleneck and tucked into wide-leg jeans in a darker wash. And as a sartorial surprise, the actress accessorized with a pair of semi-sheer bright fuchsia socks that peeked out from underneath her denim trousers and teamed them with black leather square-toe sandals.

An ultra-cropped trench coat, a white leather top-handle bag, and a gold chain necklace provided the finishing touches to her quirky ensemble. As for glam, Katie kept it simple with a nude lip, a glowing complexion, and her dark brunette hair styled in effortless waves.
Serving back-to-back looks, Katie attended the Ulla Johnson fall 2024 fashion show the next day — this time, she matched the ethereal looks going down the runway with a dreamy lace and satin two-piece set. On top, she wore a frilly white tank with a high neckline and a sheer floral-patterned hem, while on bottom, she opted for a matching skirt and a pair of shiny black boots for an unexpected bit of edge.
