I saw Gisele Bündchen’s latest outfit, and I simply had to gasp. Not because she was wearing anything extremely elaborate, confusing, or overly exposing — in fact, her look was actually very low-key, something you might have worn… a few months ago. Hint, hint: a few months ago. I gasped because the supermodel’s look was so unseasonal (I cannot fathom myself wearing what she did right now, at least living in New York City) and because it featured the jeans trend that makes me cringe.

The supermodel was photographed out and about in Miami (okay, now the outfit makes more sense), wearing an unfussy, two-piece look that included a crisp white tank top and, wait for it, skinny jeans. Now, though you won’t be stepping out in just a tank top for a while (at least until next summer), the basic is, undoubtedly, a key layering piece that can be styled under sweaters, blazers, cardigans, and more. So, it wouldn’t hurt to get another one.

Bündchen paired the fitted tank top with even more fitted jeans — light-wash skinny jeans that I wouldn’t be caught dead in, but TBH, she looks amazing in them, and now I might just reconder the style, too. The skintight denim was deemed “out” by Gen Z — they canceled them, and since then, you’d think the silhouette would have a hard time. But, really, skinny jeans are just as popular as before. So many celebs, Bündchen being the latest, still have a thing for the style.

The supermodel rounded out her look with brown slides, wearing her blonde locks in loose, beachy-waves that screamed ‘easy-going’ to a T. Overall, the look was ultra simple with a hint of nonchalant coolness to it, proving that basics can be just as essential in crafting a stellar ensemble.

But let’s get back to the topic at hand: skinny jeans. The fitted silhouette can range from skintight to subtly loose, but the hemline is all the same — tight against the ankle. Personally, this shape works well if you’re wearing a pair of shoes you just have to show off, or if you’re looking for some denim you can actually seamlessly tuck into your knee-high boots. Skinnies are great for this purpose, and funnily enough, I think I just convinced myself to get a pair. Good thing so many styles are on sale for Cyber Monday — now I don’t have to break the bank buying divisive pants I may or may not love when I get them.
