Fresh off the heels of all things Barbie, she went old-school glam with her hair look.

It's Margot Robbie's world, and we're just living in it — or that's what it feels like, at least, what with all things #Barbiecore taking over. Robbie's been wearing her hair down lately — a refreshing change from the braids and ponytails in the early Barbie trailers — so, for the 2023 Met Gala, it should come as no surprise that her hair was styled in a '90s supermodel blowout created by celebrity hairstylist Bryce Scarlett, who frequently works with the actress.

Scarlett says that he and Robbie wanted to honor the era aesthetic of her 1993 archival Chanel gown in a modern way. He began by coating her roots with Nexxus Unbreakable Care Root Lift Thickening Spray, then worked in the Nexxus Mousse Plus Volumizing Foam on her mid-lengths and to the ends. After parting her hair to the side, he used the Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler with the round volumizing brush attachment to dry hair and give it extra volume for that '90s blowout feel. For an added bouncy curl, he used a velcro rollers, making sure that hair was rolled away from her face to provide lift.

Once her hair cooled off, he removed each roller and teased hair with a comb for some body. He then took a boar-bristle flat brush to carefully brush out hair and smoothed out ends with the Dyson Airwrap's smoothing brush attachment. To lock everything in place, he finished it off with a spritz of the Nexxus Maxximum Finishing Mist.

As for the rest of the look, celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubroff went for a clean, fresh feel for Robbie's makeup. Want to recreate that dewy glow? Try Chanel Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Dragée, which Dubroff used to highlight Robbie's cheekbones and eyelids.

The beauty of the Met Gala is that there's no shortage of creative looks. "The best part of working an event like the Met Gala is that you can go as glamorous or formal as you want; nothing is too big or too fancy for this event," says Scarlett. "Tonight’s look was about honoring Karl — and making sure Margot looked and felt her absolute best." We'd say mission accomplished.
