Prince Harry may have spilled a lot of tea about the royal family in his memoir Spare, which came out earlier this year, but apparently, the duke left a lot of the drama out of the final draft.
According to royal expert and author Omid Scobie, Harry ultimately omitted a lot of juicy stories from the final version of his book. In fact, his first draft "was double in size when he initially finished."
"There are pages of that book that will never see the light of day," Scobie told Entertainment Tonight while promoting his new book Endgame. He added that members of the royal family were worried about which tidbits he would end up including.
One major piece of information that was left out of the book was the identity of the family member who made the controversial comments about Archie's skin color. Scobie revealed to ET that it was actually two royals, although, Scobie said he couldn't legally share the names in his own book. "I was surprised to find out that it was two people at the center of those conversations," he said. "While for legal reasons I couldn't name them in the book, I was surprised to find out that it was two people ... so we're not just talking about one senior family member, we're talking about two."
Part of the reason Harry left out so much of his family drama was because he didn't want to put further strain on his relationship with his father King Charles. "These are things that Harry kept to himself because he felt that perhaps that things were slightly moving forward with his father, and he didn't want to ruffle feathers any further," he told the outlet.
In fact, Harry and Meghan have kept in touch with the King and have even exchanged letters and photos of their kids and Charles's grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet. Their open communication has led to "more warmth" and "shows that there is hope there perhaps for the future at least between those two," Scobie said.
