This Dakota Johnson- and Sydney Sweeney-Worn Blush Is So Good, My Sister Stole It From Me

The extent of my blush collection is, by most standards, absurd. If you were to open my beauty closet, you might be pummeled by a landslide of cheek pigments, ranging from creams to liquids and a select few powder formulas. Truthfully, I’ve eschewed powder blush ever since discovering the unparalleled radiance its liquid and cream counterparts can bestow, but when Armani Beauty, creator of the iconic Luminous Silk Foundation, released a powder blush, I backpedaled. 

Designed to meld seamlessly into the skin, à la its namesake foundation, the Luminous Silk Glow Blush gets me giddy and glowing. I’m hardly alone: Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney donned the formula on the red carpet for the recent Madame Web premiere.

The Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Glow Blush is a tinted, complexion-enhancing cheek product that’s housed in a svelte, portable compact. Whereas many powder blush formulas veer patchy if not expertly applied, Armani’s glides, true to its name, like silk onto skin, where it practically melts to deliver an instant fresh-faced flush. Buttery is perhaps the most accurate descriptor of its texture, which wears almost like a cream without sliding or slipping off midday. It’s also incredibly buildable, making it the ultimate means to creating a subtle glow or a bolder statement.

The blush comes in an array of hues, including a punchy peony and sultry brick-rouge. My favorite, however, is a rusty tangerine tint, aptly named Offbeat: Though unconventional, it complements every one of my makeup looks and outfits, garnering compliments galore. My sister, for one, commented on my flushed cheeks during a recent visit. The moment she tried it herself, she was starry-eyed… and I turned a blind eye when she slipped it into her suitcase. 

As for the aforementioned celebrities’ blush hues: Makeup artist Georgie Eisdell mixed shade 61, a raspberry tone, with shade 11, a warm beige, to create a “cool, sexy, and strong” look, she shared via a press release. For Sweeney, makeup artist Melissa Hernandez delivered natural-looking “rosy cheeks,” per a press release, using shade 51, a soft petal-pink.

Whichever hue you choose, Armani’s latest blush is worthy of the Luminous Silk family name (consider my adoration for the foundation, and you’ll realize this is the highest praise).
