Bella Hadid Made a Case For the Dress Over Pants Trend in Winter Knits

She’s back, baby.

If you haven’t noticed, wearing a minidress over pants is no longer a fashion faux pas. Just ask our favorite It girls, like Katie Holmes and Zendaya, who have experimented with their own takes on the once-controversial dress-over-pants trend. The latest star to give the polarizing look her stamp of approval? Hollywood’s resident cool girl, Bella Hadid, who just took it for a spin while out in NYC.

On Sunday, the supermodel was spotted out and about in SoHo shopping with her close friend, Devon Lee Carlson, while feeling extra cozy as temperatures take a dip. For the outing, she sported top-to-toe gray knits by Frankies Bikinis, which included a sleeveless button-down cable knit turtleneck that hit below her hips and matching high-waisted, straight-leg knit pants. A pair of black knee-high leather boots, teeny-tiny sunglasses, gold jewelry, and a black leather handbag slung around her shoulder provided the finishing touches to her cozy girl look. Later in the evening, she tossed on a black cropped Sturgis moto jacket and traded her black shades for metal eye frames.

Beauty-wise, Hadid styled her dark brunette hair sleek and straight with pencil-thin eyebrows, bronzy cheeks, and a very glossy pout.

While Bella Hadid is the unapologetic queen of quirky model-off-duty style, her much-needed break from the public eye this year left us with few street-style moments. Luckily, just before the end of the year, she blessed us with not one, but two very good looks. Last week, the model was photographed in New York City wearing a dark brown satin-lined, camel-colored trench coat with an all-black 'fit, which featured a black turtleneck, matching trousers, and chunky boots. Her signature itty-bitty sunglasses and a black-and-white Nahui Olin candy wrapper bag rounded out her on-the-go look.
