After we all learned that Blake Lively was working on the sequel to her cult-favorite hit A Simple Favor, it's been pretty quiet (crickets, actually) regarding updates on the movie, but the actress knows what her fans want and gave a tongue-in-cheek throwback to the flick (which hit theaters back in 2018 with her latest video for Betty Buzz. Fans will remember that Blake embraced menswear tailoring in the lead-up to the movie, which reflected her character Emily Nelson (or Hope McLendon) and her penchant for suits, vests, bow ties, and walking sticks.

The new Betty Buzz clip shows Lively in a very Emily-esque vest and trousers, and she even has the same ponytail (and glassware!) as her character. The not-at-all-serious video also showed Lively making a shirtless male model guzzle a martini, claiming that the brand doesn't test on animals, only men. She founded the brand in 2021 and has since expanded it from being a non-alcoholic beverage company to include options with a little buzz, aptly called Betty Booze.

For anyone who needs a little reminder, Lively crafted a cocktail in the movie and her technique and recipe were somewhat alarming to co-star Anna Kendrick and her character, Stephanie.

Deadline confirmed that Kendrick and Lively would return for the sequel, as well as director Paul Feig.

“I can’t wait to revisit the hilarious, deeply dark inner world of Stephanie Smothers, and reunite Stephanie and Emily under the watchful and stylish eye of the glorious Paul Feig,” Kendrick told Entertainment Weekly (via Us Weekly) about stepping back into the role.

A Simple Favor is one of my favorite films I’ve ever made and it’s all because of the amazing writing of Jessica Sharzer and our stunning, hilarious cast headed by my brilliant heroes Anna and Blake," Feig added. "Expect more stylish twists and turns than Ralph Lauren making pretzels while driving down Lombard Street.”
