Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson's Relationship Timeline: A Look Back

It was a real-life fairy tale when the "Queen of Calabasas," Kim Kardashian, and the "King of Staten Island," Pete Davidson, got together. Even though the pair seemed unlikely and Kardashian had actually rejected Davidson's advances at first, she ended up pursuing the comedian, and thus, Kete was born. With nearly every one of their hand-holding outings and cross-country flights making headlines, it's easy to forget that these two had only been a bona fide thing for less than one rotation around the sun. Still, their relationship was full of good laughs.

"She's acting like a teenager," a source told Page Six in November 2021 of Kardashian dating Davidson. "She's constantly giggling. Pete has made her feel like the clock has moved 20 years back. She seems happy." 

However, six months after Davidson labeled Kardashian his girlfriend in February 2022, the reality TV star and SKIMS founder decided she wasn't ready for "something serious" with the funnyman, and they went their separate ways.

January 31, 2019: Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson first meet

Although many cite Kardashian and Davidson's first meeting as the time they performed an Saturday Night Live skit together (more on that ahead), they actually met a couple of years prior at Kid Cudi's birthday celebration. Kimye (then still a couple) went out to dinner with the guest of honor, as well as Davidson and Timothée Chalamet.

A few weeks after her SNL gig, People reported that Kardashian and Davidson were hanging out on the West Coast at Knott's Scary Farm with Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. At the time, sources close to Kiki and the Bupkis star insisted things were just friendly.

November 2021: Kim Kardashian celebrates Pete Davidson's birthday

When back in New York, eagle-eyed fans spot Kardashian and Davidson on Staten Island at Campania, and the next day, they had dinner at Zero Bond in Manhattan. Things seemed to be getting more than platonic when the two of them celebrated Davidson's birthday with Flavor Flav — and somewhat made their Instagram debut as a couple.

"The whole night, I was so honored to be in their presence," Flav told Entertainment Tonight in December 2021. "One thing that I could say is Pete Davidson loves himself some Flavor Flav. Everything he does is, 'Flavor Flav this, Flavor Flav that, Flavor Flav this, Flavor Flav that.' So Kim said, 'OK, well, for your birthday, you are going to have Flavor Flav.' She sent for me, and that's how I ended up there. I was the birthday gift."

December 2021: Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson are spotted out and about in Los Angeles

The romance started heating up by December. A source close to the couple told Us Weekly, "They're clearly not hiding their romance. It seems like they want to just be able to do things any normal couple would do and have fun together."

Davidson was photographed leaving a jewelry store in L.A. — while driving Kardashian's Rolls-Royce, so there was speculation that he managed to snag something very special for her.

January 2022: Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson vacation together

Kardashian and Davidson vacationed in the Bahamas together after having so many date nights that we lost count. The Daily Mail published photos of the couple boarding a private jet together. Fans assumed Kardashian was paying homage to her beau with a P emoji Instagram caption and a baseball cap with the same letter featured in a bikini selfie.

March 11, 2022: Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson are Instagram official

In March 2022, Kardashian posted the SNL alum to her grid for the first time, making them Instagram official. In one photo, the pair sat on the ground together, appearing to make kissy faces at each other. Another snap was a close-up of the comedian's face while the mompreneur pursed her lips in the background. A couple of images in the carousel captured a solo Kimmie showing off her tinsel coat that she loves to re-wear.

April 3, 2022: Kim Kardashian introduces Pete Davidson to her children

In photos obtained by Daily Mail in April 2022, Davidson was photographed driving an electric pink MOKE car with his then-girlfriend's daughter, North, in the passenger seat. According to TMZ, during the neighborhood joyride, Davidson and North also dropped off pizza at Scott Disick's house in a nearby gated community with his and ex Kourtney's daughter, Penelope, also in tow.

May 3, 2022: Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson attend the Met Gala together

The pair made their Met Gala debut, and in true Kim K. style, their arrival broke the internet (again). Not only was it their first Met together, but Kardashian also wore Marilyn Monroe's iconic "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" gown from 1962. The couple absolutely shut down the red carpet — literally, they were the last two to walk the steps.

Like the gentleman he is, Davidson helped Kardashian up the stairs while photos clicked to capture the legendary moment. "Doesn't he look handsome?" she asked her friend La La Anthony, one of the hosts of the Vogue livestream. Davidson joked, "She wouldn't let me wear my propeller hat, but it's fine."

August 2022: Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson break up

Sadly, Kete's time together came to an end by August 2022 after dating for nine months. E! News was the first to confirm the split with a source who said that the two still have "a lot of love and respect for each other," but ultimately, their hectic schedules and long distance "made it really difficult to maintain a relationship."

Another source told Entertainment Tonight that in addition to their busy calendars, the couple's "spark faded." 

"They had tons of chemistry, and still do, but Kardashian kind of wants to be single and date," the insider shared. "Kim still adores Pete and will always be friends with him. She still thinks he's the nicest and sweetest guy in the world, and there's no drama or anything weird between them now."
