Demi Moore Wore a Sparkly Swan Gown to Celebrate the Premiere of 'Feud'

Fans are eagerly awaiting the second installment of Ryan Murphy's campy and very over-the-top series, Feud, which is coming back with its new season, Capote Vs. The Swans, on Jan. 31. For the show's New York premiere, Demi Moore took the show's title literally, wearing a black-and-white Balmain gown that featured an avian embellishment that looked like a swan taking a flight off her bodice.

The gown's design also featured allover sequins and stripes running down its length. Moore kept her neckline bare to let the feather and swan (or flamingo) design shine. She did, however, add huge circular Cartier earrings and bracelets to finish the look. Moore kept her signature dark hair down and straight and added a soft, smoky eye to complete her red carpet glam. 

In the show, Moore plays Ann “Bang-Bang” Woodward along with her co-stars Calista Flockhart, Molly Ringwald, Chloë Sevigny, Naomi Watts, and Diane Lane. Together, they play the New York "Swans" that Truman Capote befriended and then later betrayed when he wrote a fictionalized account of their lives and affairs. The show is based on the book Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer.

Moore's bird gown instantly drew comparisons to Björk's swan dress from 2001. The Icelandic musician wore the Marjan Pejoski creation to the Academy Awards that year (she was nominated for Best Song with "I've Seen It All" from the film Dancer in the Dark) and again for her Vespertine album cover that same year.

Though Moore hasn't said anything specific about her bird gown, Björk did respond to the buzz she created, saying, "It's just a dress. I don't really know why I'm obsessed with swans, but as I said, everything about my new album is about winter, and they're a white sort of winter bird. Obviously, it's very romantic, being monogamous. It's one of those things that maybe I'm too much in the middle of to describe. When you're obsessed with something, you can explain it five years later, but in the moment, you don't know exactly why. Right now, swans seem to sort of stand for a lot of things."
