There’s just something about Diane Keaton. She’s quirky! She’s sassy! She’s stylish! She is everything I want to be — and more — and that’s exactly why she’s my style hero through and through. And she should be yours, too, because she’s always ahead of the curve. Case in point: Those well-loved biker boots she put on full display in a recent Instagram post that proved she, just like me, is a shoe fanatic who can’t be tamed.

In the Instagram video, captioned, “Nothing like an old shoe,” Keaton goes through a lineup of nine shoes, calling out one pair that “scares the hell out of her” (haha, same Keaton — those 5-inch heels make me shake!), plus one bold, polka-dot pair that’s simply too quirky to even describe. But the style she says she’ll never leave are those brown, well-worn motorcycle boots that are trending big time for fall 2023. Good thing you’re not letting those go, Keaton, because you’ll probably be wearing them again very soon. (Keaton has worn combat-style boots on a number of occasions, like the chunky black pair, below, earlier this year.)

We all know that fall time is boot time, and while there are a plethora of trending, high-calf styles to keep an eye on — like tall, slouchy boots that are better than skin-tight options and cowboy boots for a Western spin — I’m calling it: The motorcycle boot will the biggest shoe trend of fall 2023. Motorcycle-anything, like moto jackets and edgy leather pants, have been around for a while, so it’s fitting that the durable, hardcore shoe style of the biker world is also re-infiltrating the fashion world with a vengeance right now — I say “re” because as Keaton proves, the boot has been around for decades.

Motorcycle boots are in line with the grunge shoe trends we see on a regular basis, like platform combat boots or lace-up knee-highs. But there’s something about the moto boot, with its classic square-toe front, wide shaft, and buckle detailing that simply cannot be beat. The style is strong and bold (just like you are!), and it says that you’re not here to mess around, nor shall anyone mess with you. That said, the hardcore shoe plays nicely with more delicate, cottagecore-style attire, too, giving the boot lots of mileage in terms of wear. And as we all know, versatility equals a must-buy.

I plan on wearing my moto boots all season long; they instantly make every piece look way cooler — not to mention they’re highly durable for when the weather isn’t on your side. So, shop all the best moto boots on the internet right now, below. Trust me: You’re going to feel so badass.
