Meghan Markle and Prince Harry first opened up about the comments, which were aimed at their son, Archie, when speaking to Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

While royal author Omid Scobie’s bombshell-filled book, Endgame, may have only hit newsstands yesterday, Nov. 27, it’s apparently already being pulled from shelves in the Netherlands.

According to People, the Dutch translation of the book reportedly named the royal family members who made controversial comments about the skin color of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s eldest child, Archie, before he was born. While it’s currently unknown whether the Dutch translation of the book is incorrect or based on an earlier draft, Dutch publishers maintain that it was simply an “error.”

“The rectified edition of Eindstrijd by Omid Scobie will be in bookstores on Friday 8 December,” Dutch publishers told People. “Xander Uitgevers temporarily removed the book from sale, due to an error that occurred in the Dutch edition.”

Scobie also voiced his thoughts on the situation in a statement shared with People that read, “Having only written and edited the English version of Endgame, I can only comment on that manuscript — which does not name the two individuals who took part in the conversation. I’m happy to hear that the error in the translation of the Dutch edition is being fixed.”

The reported revelation comes two years after Meghan and Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, where they opened up about the “concerns” certain family members had about Archie’s skin color.

After Meghan revealed that there were “concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie's] skin might be when he's born,” Harry added that he never planned on unveiling which relative the comments came from. “That conversation I'm never going to share,” he said. “It was awkward. I was a bit shocked.”

A day later, Oprah did clarify that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip were not the royals behind the comments, explaining, “He did not share the identity with me. But he wanted to make sure that I knew, and if I had an opportunity to share it, that it was not his grandmother, nor his grandfather that were part of those conversations. [...] He did not tell me who were a part of those conversations. As you could see I tried to get that answer, on-camera and off.”
