Christmas has come and gone, and TBH, this season felt totally different because it was one of the first I’ve experienced in Minnesota without snow. Even though I didn’t really feel like I was in the holiday spirit, I still had a beautiful time with my family and fiancé, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Of course, I also loved the fact that I didn’t really need a coat while I went on my morning walks with my dog, nor did I need heavy-duty winter boots because, well, no snow! So, Kate Middleton’s go-to Christmas boots can totally be my go-to Christmas (err, winter) boots, too.

The royal family set out for their annual Christmas walk on December 25 in coordinating holiday looks that certainly did not disappoint. Given their streak for sleek, chic, stylish, and perfectly matching sartorial moments every year, I didn’t expect anything else. The dressing theme was blue, with a little bit of green on Princess Charlotte, and trending footwear as the grounding element of every look. Princess Charlotte opted for patent leather Mary Jane flats that looked so cute with her tights, while Middleton slipped into the universally flattering boot trend she wore last year, too: suede, knee-high boots with a practical block heel that’s made for walking.

Last year, the Princess of Wales wore a green, longline coat, as she usually does for the Christmas service, with nothing but her brown suede boots popping out from underneath the topper’s hemline. It was also the moment I realized I need knee-high suede boots, and I did, in fact, invest in a pair. Now, I need another pair, because as Middleton’s latest look proves, you can never have too many (as in, one pair in every color seems about right).

Middleton’s recent Christmas boots were designed in a deep blue hue, which coordinated perfectly with her blue wool coat. They featured a knee-high design, which is a universally flattering, ageless silhouette you can and should wear in the summer, spring, fall, and winter. Not to mention, it looks so good with maxi coats à la Middleton’s, as well as anything else imaginable, so yes, they are incredibly versatile, and because of this, it’s no wonder the royal reaches for them time and again.

I’m now convinced I need another pair, too. Thanks, Kate! Shop more tall suede boots inspired by the royal below.
