Meghan Markle Revealed the One Gift She Won't Be Giving to Her Son Archie This Christmas

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's son, Prince Archie, has taken up a new hobby, but even the duchess is drawing a line when it comes to splurging on equipment for his passion (he's 4 years old, after all).

During a panel for Netflix's short film The After, directed by Meg's good friend and famed photographer Misan Harriman, last month, Markle revealed that Archie has taken an interest in photography thanks to Harriman's inspiration. The young prince even has his own camera that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex purchased for him — although, it wasn't exactly the model he was hoping for.

"The inspiration runs deep," the mother-of-two explained to Harriman and the short's star David Oyelowo during the Nov. 15 event, which took place in Montecito.

"Our 4-year-old," she continued before hilariously correcting herself, "4-and-a-half-year-old son — he would say, 'No, I'm not 4. I'm 4-and-a-half' — Misan was showing him how to do photography the last time he was with us, and I bought Archie a camera, and he said, 'But it's not a Leica like Misan.'"

The handcrafted and retro-looking cameras can cost a pretty penny (like, well into the thousands), and while the toddler is all-in on the art, Markle said she just couldn't justify getting one for Archie — not even it were to come from Santa.

"I said, 'You are not getting a Leica! Not even for Christmas.' So, thank you for the inspiration across the board," she said to Harriman.

Markle and Harry's friendship with Harriman goes way back. In fact, the duo even announced their second pregnancy with the help of Harriman. Back in February 2021, the photographer shared a beautiful black-and-white photo of Meghan cradling her growing baby bump while resting her head along Prince Harry's leg. Harriman also shared one of the very first baby photo of the couple's daughter, Lilibet, on her first birthday.
