If there's one thing we know for certain, it's that Natalie Portman has got range — both on and off the screen. From Jackie and Black Swan to May December, her versatility as an actress is apparent in her work, but the star also just proved that her fashion sense is equally as diverse.

After stunning in an ethereal floral sequin Dior gown at the Golden Globes, Portman did a total 180 in a super sultry cut-out little black dress at the 2024 Governors Awards, which took place Tuesday night at The Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles. The silk Schiaparelli column gown featured a keyhole cutout and upside-down halter neckline held up by a thick bedazzled gold chain. She accessorized with a black-and-gold clutch that was embellished with beads and a nose (one of the label's signature motifs), dainty diamond earrings, and a matching ring.

Portman's thick eyeliner, deep side-part, red lip, and matching crimson nails were perfectly complemented the look's sexy, mysterious side, and in turn, nodding to her May December character, Elizabeth. Portman was nominated for the role at Sunday's Golden Globes, though the film was snubbed from the 2024 SAG nominations on Wednesday.

The Netflix film, which earned four total Globe nominations, follows actress Elizabeth (Portman) who is portraying Gracie (Julianne Moore), a woman who had an affair with a 13-year-old boy and eventually ended up marrying him. As the film progresses, Elizabeth finds herself a little too invested in the family's life, and in a recent interview with WSJ. Magazine, Portman explained why she hasn't tried method acting.

“I’ve gotten very into roles, but I think it’s honestly a luxury that women can’t afford,” she said before referencing her 2016 film. “I don’t think that children or partners would be very understanding of, you know, me making everyone call me ‘Jackie Kennedy’ all the time,”

The Governor's Awards are an annual event and precursor to the Oscars. Every year, the Academy's Board of Governors chooses several recipients to honor with the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, and the Honorary Award, according to the Oscars website. This year, Angela Bassett, Mel Brooks, and Carol Littleton received the honorary Oscars, while Michelle Satter was presented with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
