Sam Edelman Laurs Platform Lug-Sole Loafer

It wouldn’t be fall without a pair of loafers, and this option from Sam Edelman is begging to step on some foliage with its earthy brown tones and smooth leather. Thanks to a high lug sole, you get plenty of grip on any wet or leafy grounds as well. With a tiny bit of hardware accenting the top of the shoe, the classic style functions as the perfect touch to any fall outfit. It even comes in a wide size range, offering up to size 13 and tons of half sizes in between.

It’s hard to believe that shoes this stylish could be waterproof. If you’re someone who doesn’t love a classic rubber boot in the rain, these booties are a fantastic alternative. Plus, the knitted top half sits snugly against the skin, so you don’t have to worry about any water seeping in. Although Nordstrom does warn that the shoes run a little small, shoppers are ecstatic over the fit, saying they’re “super comfortable and have that chunky look with a smaller heel.”

At any given time of the cold season, you can find me in my adorable go-to white knee-high boots. Had I known this similar style would be on sale, I would have waited to purchase this pair. Made of real leather -– either suede or smooth — the boot will mold and become more comfortable with each wear. The 3.75-inch heel is also just below that fine line that’s strenuous on the foot. And for anyone worried if the boot will fit over their calves, shoppers confirmed it’s on the wider side, claiming, “I lift weights and do other athletic activities so my calves are on the bigger side. They fit no problem!”
