I Spent $400 on Fall Fashion and Beauty Products at Nordstrom — Here’s What I Bought

In my role as a shopping writer, one of my primary tasks is, well, shopping. And whenever I need a bit of retail therapy, I always end up at Nordstrom. I’ve been using the changing seasons as an excuse to add all of my fall and winter must-haves to my cart. My latest shopping spree included cozy sweaters, well-fitting jeans, moisturizing skincare, and my signature fall fragrance. As predicted in my last Nordstrom beauty restock, I’ve managed to rack up a hefty receipt of just over $400 — but trust me, it was worth it. 

So, what items made it into my Nordstrom cart? My fall haul included Levi’s jeans, sweaters from Topshop and Free People, my go-to YSL perfume for fall, and more hydrating skincare from Hourglass and L'Occitane in preparation for the looming winter.

Topshop Funnel-Neck Rib Sweater 

This Topshop Funnel-Neck Rib Sweater is so chic and comes in black, green, and orange in sizes XS through L. The fabric is soft, warm, and incredibly stretchy. It has more of an oversized fit, even if you purchase it in your true size, but since I wanted to wear it as a dress over leggings, I went a size up so it would fully cover my butt. It also has slouchy balloon sleeves with an exaggerated drop shoulder and a chic funnel neck that’s sure to keep me extra cozy and warm once winter hits.

L'Occitane Almond Milk Concentrate Body Cream 

The L'Occitane Almond Milk Concentrate Body Cream has been a game-changer in my fall and winter skincare routine for years. The texture of this super-rich formula is velvety-smooth, and I find that even on the coldest and driest of days, my skin still feels moisturized. But what I love most about this product is the scent and how long it lasts on the skin. The almond scent profile is delicate and clean without being overpowering, and every time I wear it, people constantly inquire about what I’m wearing. 

Levi's Dad Jeans

With my recent change in weight, my entire denim collection has become obsolete. While it’s been devastating parting ways with my coveted collection, it’s been nice revamping it with new silhouettes I wouldn’t have previously tested. So, I was excited to pick up the Levi's Dad Jeans during my last Nordstrom run.

The baggy-fit jeans come in a light-wash shade and sizes 28 through 31. They sit low on the waist and fall straight down to the ankle, plus they have a traditional zipper and button closure for easy on and off. I plan on styling this pair with slouchy, oversized sweaters and fitted long-sleeve shirts with heeled boots and sneakers.
