Gisele Bündchen Says She Loves Being in Her 40s

"I’m feeling so much better at 43 than at 23."

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen opened up about aging — and how happy she is to be in her 40s. During a panel discussion held this morning in New York City to announce her new partnership with Gaia Herbs, Bündchen explained that she's feeling "amazing" and that being in her 40s feels "so much better" than her 20s.

“I’m feeling so much better at 43 than at 23,” she said. “It’s amazing. I feel so much better — 40s are amazing.”

Bündchen is officially Gaia Herbs' wellness ambassador, and the mother and model says that she's been a fan of the brand for more than two decades. During her chat, she explained that her mother and grandmother both passed on their love of plants to her and that working with Gaia was a natural step for her to bring that tradition to people everywhere.

“When I went to visit Gaia Herbs’ farm, it was incredible because I felt really good about the choices I’ve been making. I was like, ‘Good! I haven’t been intoxicating myself for the last 20 years, I feel better about myself.’ Imagine if I wasn’t, it would’ve been a problem. I would’ve noticed when I’m like 50 or 60,’“ she added.

People notes that Bündchen also spoke about her wellness routine, just in case anyone was wondering how she maintains that supermodel glow. Even this routine has changed, she adds, as she's grown older and wiser.

“I meditate every day, I exercise every day,” she said. “I’m just so grateful I have this body, I truly am. Now I’ve learned — because I wasn’t so good in my 20s or my teens — I realized my body is my temple and I really want to enjoy it. So for me, moving my body is huge.”

Another major shift? She said that recently, she's stopped drinking alcohol and the decision has made her feel more "clear."

“This is why I wake up at 5 a.m. This is why I’ve meditated for over 20 years. And when I don’t, I feel a huge difference,” she added. “I haven’t drank alcohol in over two years and it’s amazing how much more clear [I feel].”
