Julia Roberts Wore 2 ‘It’ Items That’ll Be Everywhere by Spring 2024

After what has felt like an infinitely long January — are we on day 64 or what? — I can’t believe we’re about to enter February. Thich also means that we’re getting closer and closer to my favorite season: spring. But here’s the thing, you probably just got the hang of winter dressing. (At least I did.) But soon, the tricky transitional season will throw more sartorial confusion into the mix, leaving you thinking, “What do I wear today?” all too often again. Luckily, Julia Roberts just shined light on two spring 2024 ‘It’ items that you can wear now — and in six months.

Roberts was photographed out and about during Paris Fashion Week, looking as refined and sophisticated as ever, while sitting front-row at the Jacquemus spring 2024 runway. The star-studded show also saw Kylie Jenner, Jenna Lyons, and Kristin Davis in attendance, but Roberts’ look is the one that’s still on my mind. It was simple! It was chic! It was expertly accessorized!

The Leave the World Behind actress opted for a Jacquemus classic — a structured, long-sleeved coat dress that featured big, bold shoulders, a cinched-in waist, and two front flap pockets. Whether they’re functional, I do not know, but they did add some dimension to the otherwise streamlined midi. But the shining stars of the look were those slingbacks and sheer, black tights that only subtly peeked out from underneath the coat dress.

Slingback heels might not seem like the most sensible winter shoe, but that’s why I’m telling you about them now. They're going to be everywhere come spring 2024, which means the best time to stock up is now so that you're fully prepared when slingback season is in full swing. Roberts donned a shiny, patent-leather style with a bow tacked onto the front that gave it a dainty touch. Whether the bow is there or not, a simple, black slingback will take your look to new levels of subtly sexy. Pro tip: Play around with the heel height, as a kitten heel feels a bit more low-key while a stiletto ups the edge.

Though technically it is still winter and slingback sandals might not be top of mind, Roberts made the shoe totally seasonal with the addition of sheer black tights, another must-have for spring 2024. Tights in general have been back in a big way, but given their practical nature, it’s not all too surprising that people have been wearing them to death. Not to mention, come spring when transitional season is in full swing, tights will be an essential to make your favorite skirt, mini dress, or denim midi work for those chilly morning, warm afternoon-type of days.
