Rihanna Dropped a Major Bombshell About Her Super Bowl Pregnancy Reveal

"No one knew I was pregnant."

One of the biggest moments of 2023 was undoubtedly Rihanna's Super Bowl halftime show performance — which came with a side of baby news. In a new interview with Access Hollywood, the superstar singer and mother of two revealed that the whole thing wasn't planned at all, clearing up any conspiracy theories that she wanted to drop the news on one of the biggest stages in the world. Not only did she perform a medley of her hits and show off a custom-made Loewe breastplate, but she also let viewers know a baby was on the way — even if that wasn't the original plan. Instead, she told the outlet that she just went with it and was thankful that her wardrobe that night was stretchy.

"Here's the thing. I did what I had to do, right? My jumper couldn't zip up," she said with a laugh. "No one knew I was pregnant. I just told my stylist, 'Make sure it's stretchy.' So the undergarment was stretchy and this was baggy, but you know, the zip. It just stopped right there! So it had to be what it had to be."

Of course, Ri teased her pregnancy at the start of her set, rubbing her belly and leaving her jacket open — and giving everyone a reason to speculate. She confirmed that she was pregnant after the show.

Now, Rihanna is a mother to two sons: RZA and Riot Rose. A source close to the singer said that she loves being a mom and that she's never been happier.

"She loves being a mom so this is where her mind is at the moment," the insider told People. "She is the happiest she has ever been."

Riot arrived in August and RZA celebrated his first birthday in May 2023.
