Anne Hathaway's Sky-High Heels Are a Holiday Season No-Brainer

Holiday party season is in full swing — cue the jingle jangles, peppermint cocktails, and festive outfits (!!!). It’s personally my favorite time of the year because the spirits really are so high. Plus, it’s a time to reflect on a year that (always) flies by too fast, make goals for the next 365 days, and celebrate with your friends and family. Of course, festive fashion is also another level of glitz and glam, where you simply can’t do “too much” of anything: bring on all the sparkles, sequin, and shine. Outfits can vary, and while you’re probably already prepping your looks for your upcoming holiday soirees, I invite you to take a look at Anne Hathaway’s winter white outfit that features the one party staple I think everyone should have on hand.

Hathaway has been serving stellar looks left and right. Seriously, it’s almost impossible to keep up with all the great things she’s been wearing because everything’s been just that: great. But, it was her most recent all-white outfit (which might cause some eyebrows to raise because, well, white post-Labor Day) that sparked some major joy because of… those shoes.

The actress was photographed out and about in New York City last week looking simply angelic. She wore an extra-long white maxi coat while on her way to her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which she later took off to reveal a silky white midi skirt with a super high slit, plus a matching corset crop top. But alas, the star of the one-toned look was undoubtedly those in-your-face shoes: six-inch silver platform heels that are a must for the season ahead.

Hathaway’s heels had all the makings of a winning holiday shoe. They were loud! They were glitzy! They were daring! They were, of course, metallic — a shoe trend that’s been big for a while now. In fact, Hathaway herself has been spotted in silver shoes before, but this pair takes the cake (IMO, at least). They were fully covered in silver sequin, from the thick platform front to the break-your-ankle heel, so that the footwear truly sparkled from every angle. Plus, there was that dainty ankle strap to securely hold the shoe in place and an asymmetric front strap that added some glam. A win, Hathaway!

Silver platforms are also extremely versatile. You can wear them with every color, like black or Hathaway’s white, and style of clothing, from pants to skirts to dresses.
