Bella Hadid's Throwback Look Majorly Channeled Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy

I’m immediately adding two items from her outfit to my closet.

I’m open to other opinions, but in my book, Bella Hadid is the ‘It’ girl of this decade. When she steps out for a walk, it practically breaks the internet, and when she so much as gets dressed, it inspires thousands of videos and articles on how to get her look. I’m not sure if it’s because she’s always ahead of the fashion curve or creating said trend simply by wearing it, but when she’s seen in something, you know it will soon be very big. When she rocked short-shorts that were basically underwear, suddenly wearing undies as pants was a thing, and when she donned a pair of reader glasses, they quickly became a must-have accessory. So, based on her most recent look, I’m pretty sure ’90s cool-girl is set to be the next big thing.

While out in New York City this week, the supermodel wore an outfit that channeled the everyday style of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy with its focus on simple base pieces. On top, she wore a slightly oversized black blazer with a suede-like finish, V-neck sweater, shoulder bag, and a seriously large silk scrunchie. And, on the bottom, she wore the timeless combination everyone from Jennifer Aniston to Margot Robbie swears by: classic blue jeans with square-toe, heeled black booties.

I fell in love with every single piece of this look, which married sophistication and everyday ease so effortlessly. Her blazer and black belt from B-Low the Belt added a luxe touch to the outfit while her cute scrunchie made things a bit more casual; ultimately, I was most drawn to her straight-leg jeans and square-toed leather boots. Both pieces are versatile, easy to style, and beyond timeless, and, when worn together, look incredibly chic.

The pants-and-shoe pairing is as classic as peanut butter and jelly, and that’s because it works every time. A sleek, heeled bootie poking out from the hem of long, straight-leg jeans instantly elevates casual denim. Plus, a major perk for all my fellow petite folks out there is the duo makes legs look like they go on for days. The combo also goes with pretty much everything in your closet, as it makes dressed-up blazers and jackets feel a bit more cool while elevating closet staples like basic white T-shirts. All in all, the pants-and-boots pairing is the low-effort, high-impact duo every closet needs.

Hadid might move us from Y2K fashion back to timeless ’90s styles, and for that, I say thank you. So whether you’re looking to recreate her throwback ‘fit to a T or want to test out her classic, universally flattering pairing, I found more look jeans and boots that help you achieve her style.
