Nicole Kidman Wore the Winter Shoe That Basically Feels Like a Hug

Nothing beats the feeling of your mom’s warm embrace. Whenever something went wrong when I was younger, felt sad, or just needed some extra care after a long, tiring day at school, my mom’s hugs would do the trick. In fact, there are actual benefits of a hug, too, which explain why they’re so essential when you’re down (read all about it here if you’re interested), so more hugs equals more happiness. It’s no wonder, then, that I am so fond of one particular winter shoe that’s basically like a hug for your feet, and Nicole Kidman just wore them.

Kidman was photographed in New York City on set of her upcoming film, Babygirl, wearing the most classic winter outfit. While it’s hard to tell what’s underneath (probably a dress), her camel-colored wrap coat is easily the most timeless piece of the ensemble. The versatile color is one winning factor, as is the simple tie-waist belt, the oversized pockets ideal for storing small essentials, and the understated collar.

But while the coat caught my attention, it was ultimately those boots — which I later discovered were a simple on-set essential, and not part of Kidman’s on-screen character’s wardrobe. Said boots were none other than classic tall Ugg boots that are the quintessential winter shoe that all of Hollywood basically wears when October rolls around. And if you haven’t yet tried a pair I advise you to so ASAP, because they really are like a warm, cozy, comforting hug for your feet.

Kidman wore the classic tall iteration, which she folded down to reveal the shearling-lined interior. A cute hack, if you ask me! The tall silhouette has been around for decades, and it’ll never go out of style, but that’s not to say that brand hasn’t updated its offerings to include some more “trendy” options, like this platform pair that look so cool on. However, I think the best investment is a pair similar to Kidman’s; they’re simple, pair well with everything, and great for tucking.
